Description

CANON PYON CP - SO 45 SE 2/17 Lawton's Hope 2.9.66 GV II Farmhouse. Probably late C17 to early C18 with later alterations and additions. Sandstone rubble and timber-frame with brick infill. Brick additions to north-east, Welsh slate roofs with sandstone rubble and brick stacks. Rectangular plan with garden front to south-west. Cellar, two storeys and attics. South-west elevation has two windows, glazing bar mid-C20 sashes to left-hand side and mid-C19 two-leaved panelled door under early C20 open gabled porch to right of centre. Three blocked mullioned and transomed 2-light windows, two to first floor and one to ground floor. Frame has three slightly joggled rectangular panels to each floor. North-west elevation has two more blocked mullioned and transomed windows to first floor. South-east elevation has two framed gables. North-east elevation has two similar gables obscured by mid-C19 brick service extension. Interior not inspected. RCHM notes staircase with heavy turned balusters and newels with shaped pendants.
