Description
Lower House is a house built in 1736 and repaired in 1853. It is constructed from squared sandstone rubble with sandstone dressings, featuring Welsh slate roofs and brick stacks. The building has a rectangular plan that is aligned north/south, with the entrance located on the west side.
The west elevation has three windows, which are glazing bar sashes, and a plat band. The central entrance consists of a four-panelled door set in a latticed open porch topped with a concave hipped lead roof. To the left of the main house is a lower section that has a 2-light casement window on each storey. Inside, there is timber-framed walling in the lower part to the north.
On the west elevation, there is a plaque with incised lettering that reads: JOHN PLEVY 17?? (believed to be 1736) REPAIRED BY JOHN B PLEVY 1853.
