Description
West View is a cottage, probably from the 18th century, with later alterations. It features a timber frame with brick and plaster infill, and has Welsh and asbestos slate roofs. The building has a sandstone and brick end stack and a rectangular two-bay plan that is aligned north-north-west to south-south-east. It is one storey high with an attic. The west elevation includes one window, a gabled central early 20th-century dormer with a two-light casement. On the ground floor, there are a pair of similar casements and a central late 20th-century glazed porch. The frame consists of three square panels high from the cill to the wall-plate. To the right side, there is a single-storey mid-20th-century extension that obscures the end stack. The interior has not been inspected.
