Description

This building is a barn located approximately 30 meters north-west of Court Farmhouse. It dates from the 16th century or early 17th century, with later additions and alterations from the 18th century. The barn is constructed of sandstone rubble, featuring a roof that is partly covered with corrugated metal and partly with stone slate. It consists of six bays arranged in a north-west to south-east direction, with a central threshing floor and added lean-tos on the south-west side. Inside, there are three cruck trusses with some missing members that survive toward the center of the barn, while the remaining trusses are irregular and mainly of the collar and tie-beam type, with inclined struts.
