Description
Ty'n-y-gwynt is a farmhouse that has been converted into a cowhouse. It likely dates from the late 17th century and includes an extension from around the same time. The building is constructed of rubble with a corrugated roof and features a central stack with dripstones. Originally designed as a longhouse, it has two cells that extend southwards. The structure is now one storey with an unfloored attic and has three entrances at the front, with the northern entrance leading into the principal room. The north end gable wall has two hooded lights, one on the first floor and one on the ground floor, located to the west of the entrance, which is accessed through a ledged door. Inside, there is a fireplace associated with the central stack, but there is no indication of an adjacent staircase. The north gable lights, which are covered on the outside, feature diamond section mullions.
