Farmhouse. C17. Coursed dry stone rubble, corrugated iron roof. 2 rooms with hearth and bread oven at east end. Two low storeys, upper floor open to roof. Window to left of centre, small first floor window to right of centre above doorway with planked C20 door; large window frame in rear wall with holes for 5 diamond section oak mullions. Interior: evidence of plank and muntin partition; fire-surround has stone cheeks and oak lintol has broach chamfer-stops; to left of fireplace is access to winding newel stair with rebate in back wall for former staircase door. Staircase has oak treads, a corbelled roof and is lit by a small square window. Roof has 3 purlins, interrupted tie-beam trusses with opening between 2 upper rooms; rafter pegged to upper purlin; carved underside of lowest purlin for upper window- head; upper fireplace; staircase entered through segmental head. Construction very similar to Lower House Farmhouse (qv).
