Description
The Schoolhouse is a barn and cow house, likely built in the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed from thinly coursed or dry-stone rubble and has a corrugated iron roof. The building features three bays with an extension and has a ventilation slit on the right side. The centre bay has ledged full-height doors, while the left bay contains two ledged 18th-century doors, one of which is a re-used domestic internal door. There is a lean-to extension for the cow house on the left side, which also includes a re-used internal door. The barn showcases shaped rafter-ends, and the interior has raking struts connecting the tie-beams to the principal rafters.
