Description

This is a dovecot located approximately 70 meters southeast of Stockton Bury Farmhouse. It is possibly from the 16th or 17th century and is constructed of sandstone rubble with a Welsh slate roof. The dovecot is circular in shape and features a low square-headed doorway on the southwest side. The roof is topped with an open hexagonal glover and a weathervane. Inside, there are 20 tiers of integral nesting boxes with alighting ledges. A central chamfered wooden potence supports a partly restored revolving frame and ladder.
