Description

The dovecot located to the west of Church Farmhouse dates back to the 16th century and has been altered over time. It is constructed from rubble with rough ashlar quoins and has a square plan. The roof is covered with pantiles and features gables, with the south gable having a coped verge and a saddlestone. On the east side, there is a blocked doorway with a hollow chamfer pointed arch, and to the north, there is a later stable door with a wood lintel and a square head. Inside, the dovecot is lined with nesting boxes and has a replacement queen post roof. There are segmental arches leading to an adjoining stable to the east, which is not of special interest.
