Description
This barn, located about 20 yards north of Treberon, is likely from the 16th century, with an extension added in the early 19th century. It features a sandstone rubble plinth and a timber-frame structure with weatherboards, along with a sandstone rubble extension. The roof is made of Welsh slate and corrugated asbestos. The barn has six bays that run roughly east to west. The north elevation includes two rows of four vent slits, with one of the upper slits replaced by a large former loft opening, situated to the right of full-height opposed ledged doors; there is weatherboarding to the left of these doors. The west gable is also weatherboarded. Inside, to the west of the threshing floor, there are three pairs of cruck blades; the central and western pairs have tie-beams, while the pair over the threshing floor has only spurs. The wall-frame consists of three square panels high from the cill to the wall-plate. To the east of the threshing floor, there are collar trusses that have been partly renewed in the 20th century.
