Description
This is a barn located about 25 yards east of Holsty Farmhouse, likely built in the 18th century. It features a sandstone rubble plinth and a timber frame covered with weatherboards, topped by a Welsh slate roof. The barn has seven structural bays arranged in a north/south direction, with a threshing floor situated in the third bay from the south. It has two levels. The west elevation displays five loft doors, with four ledged doors to the left of the double-leafed doors leading to the threshing floor, and two doors to the right, one of which is part of a lean-to. Inside, the barn includes triple angle struts and three purlins on each side. The studs are closely spaced, with no rails between the cills and wall-plates, and there are lofts on either side of the threshing floor.
