Description
This barn, located about 40 yards southeast of Kingstone Grange, likely dates from the mid-18th century. It features a sandstone rubble plinth, a timber frame, weatherboards, and a corrugated iron roof. The barn is arranged in three bays, oriented north-north-east to south-south-west. The west elevation includes a central set of ledged, two-leaved full-height doors leading to the threshing floor, while a cow shelter, which is not of interest, covers the right-hand side. Inside, there are raking struts from the tie beams to the principal rafters on each side of the threshing floor. The gable trusses consist of three posts between the ties and collars, with V-struts above.
