Description
Hanley Court is a farmhouse that likely dates from the late 17th century, with an extension added in the mid- to late 18th century. The building is constructed of brick and painted brick, featuring tiled roofs and brick end stacks. It has an overlapping rectangular plan that is roughly aligned north-west to south-east. The farmhouse includes a cellar, two storeys, and attics.
The north-east elevation shows the main range on the right, which has five segmentally-headed cross-casements, three early 20th century gabled dormers, and a gabled porch with a six-panelled early 19th century door. There are two plat bands and a brick eaves cornice, along with an external stack on the left-hand side. The left range, which is from the 18th century, has blocked segmentally-headed openings and one small two-light late 19th century casement on the right side of the first floor, with a brick kerb on the left gable that includes a stack.
Inside, the farmhouse is noted for its heavy ceiling beams. The cellar is located beneath the north-west end of the main range.
