Description
Thatch Cottage is a cottage that likely dates from the late 17th century to the 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It features a timber frame with plaster and brick infill, and has a roof made of concrete tiles and pantiles, along with a stone external end stack that has a detached brick shaft. The building consists of two structural bays aligned north-north-east to south-south-west and is one storey high with an attic.
On the east elevation, there are two windows, which are 2-light mid-19th century casements located at the center and left. A catslide roof covers the entrance porch, which has a ledged door from around 1900 to the right. To the right of the main structure, there is a mid-19th century brick single-storey extension with a hipped pantiled roof that obscures the end stack. The timber frame is composed of two square panels high from the cill to the wall-plate.
