Description
The Old Forge is a house dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of brick and features a Welsh slate roof with brick end stacks. The building has a rectangular plan oriented north-east to south-west and stands two storeys tall.
On the north-west elevation, there are two mid-19th century casement windows with two lights each. The ground floor windows are deeper and have cambered heads. Flanking the central early 20th-century door, which has four panels and is set beneath a contemporary gabled canopy, are two brick pilasters that rise to the eaves. A brick plat band runs along the building.
At the rear, there is a mid-19th century brick catslide extension. The Old Forge was formerly the parish post office.
