Description
Arkstone Court is a farmhouse that likely dates from the late 18th century, although it has earlier origins. The building features a sandstone plinth and is constructed of brick with hipped tile roofs. It has a roughly rectangular shape, with the main front facing south. The structure includes a cellar, three storeys, and attics. The façade has a symmetrical arrangement of windows with a 1:1:1 configuration, featuring glazing bar sashes. There are two canted projecting wings, with the left wing having blind window areas. The central first floor has a tripartite sash window, and there is a thermal window at the top floor. The central entrance is highlighted by a fanlight and a four-panelled door, and the building is topped with a dentilled brick eaves cornice. Attached to the right side is a two-storey dairy and kitchen wing, which has 3-light casements under shallow segmental heads and an entry on the left-hand side. Inside, the principal room on the northern ground floor features heavy ceiling beams.
