Description
Church House is a house that likely dates from the late 17th century or 18th century, with early 20th-century extensions. It features a timber frame with plaster and brick infill, and has roofs made of brick, tile, and Welsh slate, along with sandstone rubble and brick stacks. The building consists of two structural bays oriented roughly north-west to south-east, with a large brick extension to the north. It stands two storeys high with an attic.
The west elevation displays a 1:2 window arrangement with two-light casements and two gable fronts; the right gable is timber-framed and separated by an external end stack. To the left of this stack is a glazed entrance porch. The frame includes V-struts above the collar of the west gable, with side walls consisting of two panels high from the cill to the wall-plate, and angle struts at the corner posts. Church House is prominently located on the north side of the churchyard of the Church of St Michael and All Angels. It was formerly known as The Old Vicarage.
