Description
Holsty Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and brick, topped with a stone slate roof that is hipped to the north, and features brick stacks. The building has a rectangular plan that runs roughly north to south, with a cellar at the southern end, and it stands two storeys high with an attic.
The east elevation displays five windows, which are segmentally-headed tripartite mid-20th century sashes. To the right of the centre, there is a canted early 20th century bay window, and above the central first floor window, an oeil-de-boeuf is present. The central part of the elevation features an early 20th century glazed porch and a dentilled brick eaves cornice. The left section is made of sandstone rubble, and the window heads in this part have projecting keystones.
Inside, the farmhouse has a flagged ground floor and an early 19th century dog-leg staircase with stick balusters and two flights.
