Description
Titley Cottage is a cottage that may date back to the 17th century, with an extension from the 18th century. It features a timber-frame structure with brick and plaster infill, corrugated iron roofs, and an external sandstone rubble end stack with a detached brick shaft. The building has a T-plan layout, consisting of a two-bay main range that is aligned east to west, with an addition to the north. It is one storey high with an attic. The south elevation includes two windows: a 2-light 20th-century steel casement window on the left and a 4-pane mid-19th century window on the right. There is an external stack on the left side, which has an apsidal bread oven located behind it. Inside, the cottage features a heavy collar that supports two posts to the principals in the main range. Titley Cottage was previously known as Tidley Cottage.
