Description
Church House Farmhouse is a farmhouse from the 18th century, possibly with earlier origins, and it has early 19th-century extensions. The building features a timber frame with brick infill, a tiled roof, and end stacks. It is designed in an L-shape, with the 18th-century section oriented north-east to south-west and a 19th-century extension attached to the north. The farmhouse has a cellar and two storeys.
The south-east elevation includes three windows, which are segmentally-headed mid-19th-century and mid-20th-century casements with three lights, except for the entry area where there is a 2-light casement. The entrance features a six-panelled early 19th-century door beneath an early 20th-century open porch. There are two plat bands, one above each row of casements, and the corner posts, ties, and panels of the timber-framed structure are visible in the gable ends. The northern extension has a hipped roof, sash windows on the south-west elevation, and cogged brick eaves cornices. Attached to the south-west side of the 18th-century section is a three-bay mid-19th-century granary, which features bolted king-post trusses.
