Description
The Grove is a house that may date back to the 15th century but has significant alterations from the 20th century. It features painted brickwork, a concrete tiled roof, and a brick chimney. The building has a T-shaped plan, with one range running north to south and the other extending westward. It stands two storeys tall. The east elevation includes three windows, which are 2-light mid-20th century casements. On the ground floor, there is one similar casement on each side of a flat-roofed glazed sun-porch with a central entrance. Inside the west wing, there are remnants of a pair of cruck blades, with the north blade displaying a moulding that leads into a pyramidal chamfer-stop. Two heavy ceiling beams, each with straight cut chamfer stops, are tenoned into the east side of the cruck-tie. The upper part of the cruck blades is hidden at the first floor level by partitions.
