Description
Lower Bellamore Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates back to the 15th century, with remodels in the early 17th century and an extension added in the early 19th century. It features a timber-frame structure with painted brick infill and a slate roof, designed in an H-plan with the main range oriented east to west. There is a stack located at the junction with the east cross-wing. The cross-wings do not have windows, while the central range consists of one storey with an attic that is illuminated by a rooflight. To the left of the main range, there is a three-light casement window, and to the right, a half-glazed recessed door. A flight of stone steps leads up to the loft entrance of the right-hand cross-wing. The framing consists of three square panels high. Inside the hall range, there are three smoke-blackened collar trusses that create two bays, and the inserted floor features a lightly moulded joist.
