Description

The house at Hacton dates to the 15th century, with substantial remodelling in the late 18th century and a late 20th-century extension. It is constructed around a cruck frame, which is now cased in brick set upon a rubble plinth, and has a tile roof. The original two-bay structure is aligned north/south and has been extended southwards in brick. A gable-end stack is positioned on the south side. The west front is two storeys high, with four windows; these are 2-light casements set beneath small gables. The ground floor casements have segmental heads. A gabled, 20th-century porch fronts the entrance, which is located to the left of the centre. The north gable reveals a cruck truss, with two further trusses visible inside.
