4/30 Barn about 75 yards east of Arkstone Court

GV II

Barn. Probably late C18 to early C19. Sandstone rubble plinth, timber- frame with weatherboards and corrugated iron roof. Five structural bays aligned north/south. East elevation has tall double-leaved doors with cambered head to threshing floor in second bay from left-hand side, low entry with ledged door in plinth on falling ground to right-hand side. Interior has framing three panels from cill to wall-plate, tie-beams have pegged king-posts which carry angle struts to principals. The barn occupies a prominent road-side position near the wainhouse and granary (qv). Included for group value.
