Description
This barn, located about 50 yards east of Court House Farmhouse, is likely from the 18th century and has undergone some later alterations. It is constructed from sandstone rubble and timber-frame, featuring weatherboards and brick dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The barn has a rectangular five-bay plan that runs north to south and consists of two levels.
On the west elevation, there are three loft openings set within the weatherboarding. The ground floor includes a wide cart-entry that reaches the full height of the storey, positioned to the right of the center, flanked by two additional entries. The right entry features a segmental brick arch with a ledged door next to another opening that has a similar arch. The east elevation showcases woven infill in the top row of framing above the weatherboards. Inside, the barn has trusses supported by two parallel pairs of raking struts. This building is included for its group value.
