Description
This is a barn located about 10 metres north of Priory Farmhouse, dating from the 17th century with alterations from the 18th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame on a rubble plinth, is weatherboarded, and has a stone slate roof that has been repaired with corrugated iron. The barn consists of thirteen framed bays arranged with three threshing floors in the following sequence from north to south: three bays, a threshing floor, three bays, another threshing floor, three bays, a third threshing floor, and finally two bays. There are two contemporary lean-tos on the west side. The five northern bays have been reconstructed, likely in the 18th century, with rubble walls, while the framing of the remaining bays consists of four square panels high to the wall-plate, all originally featuring woven infill. The trusses include two raking struts and a collar. The northernmost threshing floor has a gabled porch of two roof bays made of rubble on the west side.
