Description
Netherton Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 16th and 17th centuries, with restorations made in the late 20th century. It features a deep sandstone rubble plinth and a timber frame with plaster infill and decorative pargetting. The roof is tiled, and there is a side stack on the right cross-wing. The building has an E-plan layout, with a cellar and two storeys.
The north elevation displays a pattern of two sets of one window, featuring mid- to late 20th century casements with three lights, except for the ground floor of the cross-wing, which has a four-light window. The plinth of the cross-wing includes a pair of 2-light mullioned windows, one on either side of a 17th-century ledged door. The timber frame consists of four panels from the sill to the wall-plate in the main range and five panels in the right cross-wing, which also has parallel intersecting angle struts at the top of its gable.
To the left, there is a lower single-storey section with angle struts to the wall-plate and a restored diamond-mullioned oak window. The rear elevation, facing south, features a central projecting 17th-century porch with pargetting on the side walls, and to the right, part of a cruck blade is visible.
