Description
The terrace wall and two staircases, located about 50 metres south-east of the Church of St John the Evangelist, are likely from the 18th century and were restored in the 1860s. The structure is made of ashlar and features nine semi-circular headed arches that open under the terrace, with additional pairs of arches at each end. The outer pairs are set in bays defined by full-height pilasters. At both ends, there are three more windows with moulded architraves and semi-circular heads. Each end also has a flight of stairs, with two flights leading up from a half-landing. The top of the wall is partially balustraded. This terrace was associated with Shobdon Court, which was demolished in 1933 and stood immediately to the north of the terrace.
