Description
Old Stable Court is a building that originally served as stables and has been converted into houses and a garage. It dates from the early 18th century and was remodelled and restored in the 1930s. The structure is made of brick and features a hipped tile roof, with a square plan that includes a central courtyard.
The east front of the building has two storeys and is adorned with a dentilled and dog-tooth brick cornice, a stepped plinth, and a band at the first floor level. The façade includes a configuration of windows with 4 + 3 + 4 arrangement, where the central section is slightly advanced. The windows are horizontally sliding sashes set under segmental heads, with the heads and jambs made of a redder brick than the rest of the wall. Most of the ground floor windows are blind, except for two on the right-hand corner and one on the left-hand corner. There was originally a central carriage entry with a segmental head, which has since been blocked with brick.
At the top of the roof, there is a restored wooden bell turret that has a square plan. The upper part of the turret is louvred and features Doric pilasters and a pediment on each side. The lower part is clad in copper and includes a clock face, all topped with a wrought iron weathervane.
