Description

Ledicot is an early 18th-century farmhouse, with alterations made in the late 19th century. It is constructed of brick with ashlar dressings and has a hipped slate roof with external brick stacks on the end walls. The two-storey south front has a moulded stone cornice, ashlar quoins, and a brick band marking the ground floor. It features a symmetrical arrangement of six windows, with the central bay slightly projecting and topped with a pediment. The windows are alternately 3-light and 2-light casements, each with a wedge-shaped lintel. A moulded stone architrave with a semi-circular head frames the central entrance, which has a two-leaf half-glazed door. A rear wing, built of ashlar, is topped by a first-floor granary. The building is noted in Buildings of England (page 289) and the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments, volume 3 (page 182, number 17).
