Service wing of country house, now house: Early C18, remodelled c1933. Brick with stone dressings and hipped slate roof. Square block to north with central stack, 1930s range to south, and a further C18 range extend- ing to west. Garden (east) front: to left a range of one storey with two timber cross windows under stone wedge lintels. To centre a slightly recessed section of two storeys, the ground floor advanced to form porch. The central entrance in a canted bay has a two-leaf glazed door and is flanked by two 2-light casements. To right is of two storeys with an attic lit by three pedimented dormers. The tall windows light both storeys, with a blind centre. The central stack on this block is of brick with arcaded sides dressed with ashlar. South front has a central gabled C18 block with rusticated ashlar quoins, and finials to corners. The stone doorcase has a moulded architrave with paired consoles supporting enriched entablature and segmental pediment. The pediment contains an eagle with outstretched wings. Shobdon Court, to which this building was attached, was demolished in 1933. (RCHM, 3, p 180).
