Description
The terrace walls immediately south-east of Widworthy Court were built in 1830 and are made of local stone rubble with granite ashlar details and a Bathstone ashlar parapet, although some parts have been rebuilt with concrete blocks. These walls support a rectangular terraced garden in front of Widworthy Court and feature stone rubble revetment with granite ashlar blocks that have chamfered edges. The Bathstone ashlar parapet has rounded coping and is divided into bays by square section posts topped with pyramid caps. The original parapet bays include rectangular panels defined by shallow channels. Most of the front end consists of an open balustrade, with large stone vases at each front corner. On the north-east side, there is a semi-circular projecting bay designed for seating. Additionally, large scroll-shaped finials, which have been reset from another location, are positioned on their sides at each corner.
