Description
EARDISLEY CP off A 4111 (west side) SO 35 SW 3/41 Barn and shelter shed about 50 yards south-west of Great Quebb Farmhouse and adjoining outbuilding and garden wall GV II Barn and shelter shed. Probably C18, altered mid-C19. Part timber-framed with some brick infill and weatherboarding, part brick and rubble on rubble base with corrugated metal roofs. Possibly five framed bays aligned north- west/south-east; central wagon bay with opposed cart entries. Ventilation slits in brick walling. Interior: wall framing has three panels from sill to wall-plate and long straight braces across the lower corners. There are intermediate tie-beam trusses with raking struts and two tiers of trenched purlins. Shelter shed adjoins to north-west. Rubble with corrugated metal roof. Five bays, open on south-east side with roof supported on timber posts. North-west end bay is blocked with boarded infill and has a 2-light window and a door. Interior: roof has intermediate king-post trusses. The barn and shelter shed is prominently sited to the south-west of Great Quebb Farmhouse and adjoin- ing outbuilding and garden wall (qv).
