Description
The building at No. 1A East Street, known as the Creperie Restaurant, is a shop and dwelling that has been converted into a restaurant and flat. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of brick, which is painted at the ground floor. The building features a hipped Welsh slate roof and has a brick stack at the rear. It stands three storeys high with a cellar and has a three-window range. The windows include a 6/6 sash flanked by 8/8 sashes, all set under segmental arches, with additional 3/3 and 4/4 sashes above. The eaves are adorned with brick modillions.
The central entrance is brick-blocked and is topped by a simple open pediment hood. To the right of the entrance is a late 19th-century plain sash window, along with a later 20th-century door that is set under a chamfered stone lintel. To the left, there is an early 20th-century shop front featuring a glazed door in a canted return. The left side of the building has 8/8 and 4/4 sashes, along with the returned shop front. The bricks are inscribed with "S P P," indicating St Peter's Parish.
