Description
No. 34 Church Street is a shop and dwelling built in the late 18th century. It features a stucco exterior over brick and has a hipped plain tiled gable roof with two brick ridge stacks. The building is three storeys high and has a two-window range, with 6/6 sash windows on the lower level and 3/6 sash windows above, all with old glass and moulded wood eaves. The shop front is a 20th-century addition with a clerestory, while the left side is covered in 20th-century tiles. At the rear, there is an 8/8 casement window in a pegged frame, above a 20th-century casement window in an earlier moulded case. A gas lamp is also present. Inside, there is an early 19th-century dogleg staircase with trelliswork balusters leading from the first to the second floor, and a 20th-century flight with panelled balusters to the first floor. The first floor features architraves.
