Description
Nos. 15 and 15A on Church Street is a shop and dwelling built in the late 18th century to early 19th century, with earlier origins. The building is constructed of brick and features a hipped Welsh slate roof with a central brick chimney. It has four storeys and a single-window range, including an early 18th-century 6/6 sash window under a gauged brick flat arch, a 3/6 sash window under a gauged brick flat arch, and a 6/6 casement window. The eaves are moulded wood. The mid-19th-century shop front has recessed entrances for the shop and No. 15A, while the right wall of the lobby shows timber-framing from the 18th or 19th century. The left side of the gable has stick-framing over a larger plate. The rear of No. 15A features moulded eaves and a string course. Inside No. 15A, there is a 19th-century open-well staircase with turned balusters leading to the third floor. The second floor reveals early 18th-century framing and includes a plank door with L-hinges. The first floor has 18th-century four-panel doors and architraves.
