Description
The Hugh Gwalter Memorial, located approximately 5 metres north of the chancel of the Church of St Mary, is a memorial dating from around 1842. It is made of sandstone and features a rectangular tomb set on a simple plinth, which was formerly surrounded by railings. The memorial includes a moulded lid and bands, decorative rosettes, an urn, and cartouches. It commemorates Hugh Gwalter, who died in 1842, and his wife Bridget, who passed away in 1847. The memorial was formerly colour-washed.
