Description
This lodge, located about 150 yards north-west of Homme House, was likely built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from roughly coursed sandstone rubble and features a slate roof with an octagonal brick stack at the junction of its two wings. The lodge has a T-shaped plan with a central projecting wing on the north-east side. It stands two storeys tall.
On the north-east elevation, there are two windows on the first floor, each with a 2-centred head and a 2-light casement designed in the form of Y-tracery, positioned on either side of a gabled latticed porch. The return elevations each have another pair of matching Y-traceried windows on the first floor, above segmentally-headed openings on the ground floor, which are set into the falling ground. The building is adorned with moulded bargeboards that have pendants at their apices. This lodge serves as an entrance to Homme House.
