Description

West Lodge to Dillington Park is an early 19th-century lodge, built in the style of a cottage ornée. It is located in Whitelackington. The lodge is constructed of ham stone rubble, but features an ashlar facade. It has a hipped thatched roof and octagonal plan ashlar chimney stacks with moulded caps behind the roofline. The two-storey, three-bay facade has splayed bays one and three. There are hollow-chamfered mullioned two-light windows with Y-tracery and curl-stop labels. The upper window in the second bay is blind but painted to imitate a window, while the lower window in the second bay is a moulded pointed arch doorway with a curl-stop label, containing a boarded and studded door. A lower extension exists to the rear, with a Welsh slate roof of a very shallow pitch. The interior was not inspected.
