Description

This boundary marker, dated 1899, is made of cast iron and has a triangular plan measuring 160 mm by 160 mm at the base and 250 mm high, with a sloped top. The back is hollow, featuring the letters "IUC" on the south face and "RDC" on the north face, with the date 1899 displayed on top. It was established to mark the boundary between Ilminster Urban District Council and the adjoining Rural District Council shortly after their formation under the 1894 Act.
