Description

This house, dating to circa 1740, is located on Station Road, Ilminster. It is built of painted render, with a pantile roof and a prominent brick stack in the centre of the roof ridge. The building follows a two-unit plan, with a front door positioned slightly left of centre. It is two storeys high, featuring small 20th-century two-light casement windows set under the eaves. The ground floor contains a door in a plain architrave, flanked by three-light windows with a pattern of one sash to the centre and fixed lights to either side, each with two panes of glass. The upper panes of the central window have vents inserted at the top, and the sill of the left-hand window is lower than the others. Inside, the house has been divided to create a ground-floor flat. A lateral beam with stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops is present, alongside a cupboard inserted into the rear wall to the left. There is also raised and fielded panelling, with a round-headed arch at the top. The roof space is not visible.
