Description
33 and 35 West Street is a shop and house, now two houses, dating from the early 19th century. The facade is made of Ham Hill stone ashlar, with rubblestone on the sides and slate-hung at the rear. The building has a slate roof with brick stacks at the gable ends and features a double-depth plan. It stands three storeys high with a symmetrical three-window range; No. 35, on the right, has a two-window range and includes a shop fascia above a window to the right that extends over both doors in the centre. This house features all 2/2-pane sash windows, a six-panel door with crossed glazing bars, and margin panes in the overlight. No. 33, on the left, is a one-window range with 8/8-pane sash windows on the upper floors, a late 19th-century canted bay on the ground floor to the left, and a six-panel door with a plain overlight. The interior has not been inspected.
