Description
This is a dovecote located about 20 metres west of Bidney Farmhouse, dating from the 17th century and likely moved in the early 20th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and rendered infill, sitting on a coursed rubble base, and features a graduated stone tile roof. The dovecote is two storeys high, with a sliding door on the ground floor on the south side and a ledged and boarded door on the first floor. The roof is topped with a louvred glover that has a pyramidal shape. The framing consists of three square panels high, with semi-circular cuts on each side of each panel. The gable-end trusses include two struts to the collar and V-struts at the apex. The ends of the wall-plates are supported by carved brackets.
