Description
St Mary's is a house dating from the late 16th century, which has been restored and extended in the late 20th century. It features a timber frame with rendered infill sitting on a coursed rubble plinth, and has been extended in random rubble beneath a slate roof. The building has a T-plan layout, with a cross-wing aligned north to south and another range to the west.
On the east wall, there is a main lateral stack made of rubble with a brick shaft. The south front displays a two-storey gabled and jettied cross-wing on the right, which has two 2-light casements above a 3-light casement. To the left, there is a 20th-century single-storey lean-to against the rear wing, featuring a 3-light casement, with an attic above that is lit by two gabled dormers. The entrance is located in the west gable end of the subsidiary range.
The framing consists of four square panels high to the jettied gable, while the side (east) wall is close-studded with a mid-rail.
