Description
Luntley Court is a house that likely dates back to the early 17th century and was remodelled in 1674, with some restoration work carried out in the early and late 20th century. It features a timber-frame construction with rendered infill set on a coursed rubble plinth and has a tile roof. The building probably originally had an H-plan layout, with significant additions made in the late 17th century.
The north-west front consists of five bays, most of which are gabled, except for the rightmost bay. The structure is predominantly two storeys high with gable-lit attics. The leftmost bay has a 3-light casement window on both floors and is six square panels high. The gable above features decorative framing with concave quadrant braces. The next bay includes two windows: a 2-light and a 4-light casement above a 6-light casement. The framing here is four square panels high on the ground floor and two square panels high above.
The central bay houses a jettied porch with a 3-light casement and pendants on the corner posts. The ground floor front wall has an open arcade supported by turned balusters. Each side of the entrance features a square head inscribed with "1674" and a moulded frame. The main entrance has a shaped lintel, a moulded frame, and a battened door that is nail-studded with ornamental strap hinges. The gable is adorned with dentilled bargeboards and a pendant finial.
To the right of the porch, there is a 3-light casement in the gable, a small 2-light casement to the left on the first floor, and a 6-light casement below. The framing in this bay is five square panels high, with four struts to the collar and V-struts in the apex. The final bay to the right features a canted bay window with a hipped roof. The interior has not been inspected but is noted to have numerous exposed ceiling beams, both moulded and chamfered.
