Description

CANON PYON CP - SO 44 NE 5/8 Barn and former coach- house about 45 yards north-west of Derndale GV II Barn and stables, the latter now store. Probably late C18 to early C19. Brick with tiled and corrugated asbestos roof. Nine plus three bays aligned north-east/south-west with barn to north-east and two-level full- height stable extension to south-west. South-east elevation has barn to centre and right-hand side with two rows of alternating ventilation loops. Two full-height segmentally-headed wagon entries with two-leaved ledged doors, each one bay in from ends. Stables to left have segmental headed openings and ledged doors. South-west gable has insurance plaque. Weathervane to apex. Wagon-entry with cambered head. Nesting ledges and holes above loft opening which is flanked by a pair of vent loops. Interior has simple-pegged king- post trusses carrying raking struts to principals.
