Description

This is a barn dating from the early 18th century, located about 10 metres west of Sidcombe Farmhouse. It features a weatherboarded timber frame with woven infill, resting on a rubble plinth, and has a stone slate roof. The barn consists of six framed bays, with the threshing floor located in the second bay from the east end. The two western bays have a taller plinth. The framing includes two square panels high, except at the west end, where the upper panels have woven infill. The trusses have intermediates with raking struts, while the gables feature two queen struts to the collar and V-struts in the apex. Inside, the threshing floor is flagged, and the south door retains its lift. There is also a cowhouse and cartshed range attached at the south-west corner.
