Farmhouse. C17 with later alterations. Timber-framed, part painted brick and part wattle-and-daub infill, sandstone plinth, tiled roof hipped to south, five framed bays aligned north/south facing east with two small adjacent wings extending to west at northern west front, possibly the former stair turret and porch, present entrance to south of centre; north of centre large axial stack with three restoredstar plan brick shafts, further external stack at south gable end. Two storeys, attic and cellar. Irregular fenestration: five windows, 2- and 3-light casements, mostly leaded; further small 2-light casement window directly below eaves in second bay from north, one window to south and three to north flank glazed gabled porch. Framing: square panelling, generally seven panels from sill to wall-plate, diagonal bracing from sill to main post and above from girding beam to main post at north gable end with lattice framing in gable. Interior: contains good chamfered beams and moulded beams in former main hall (now subdivided), a 5-light ovolo moulded window iS enclosed at the rear. Trusses: two struts to collar with V-struts in apex and two tiers of purlins.
