Description
No. 47 Ashperton is a house that likely dates from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the mid- to late 19th century. The structure is timber-framed with painted brick infill and refacing, along with later brick additions. It features a sandstone plinth and a painted sandstone stack with a brick shaft, topped with a slate roof. The house has two framed bays that are aligned north to south and face east, with the entrance located to the right of the center. There is a large external stack on the south gable end and a single-storey addition on the north gable end, as well as a lean-to at the rear. The building is two storeys high and has two 2-light casement windows, with a similar window to the left of the doorway and in the later addition to the north. The entrance includes a half-glazed door with a canopy. On the first floor, irregular two square panels of framing are revealed, although the framing is not intact. This house is included for its group value.
