Description
This outbuilding, located about 50 yards south-east of Hill End Farmhouse, is likely from the 18th century. It features a deep sandstone rubble plinth, with a rubble rear wall and gables. The structure is timber-framed with brick infill, covered in weatherboards, and topped with a corrugated iron roof. It consists of three bays arranged roughly in a north-west to south-east direction and has two levels. The west elevation facing the road displays irregular framing, with a ledged door on the right side and a rubble and weatherboarded lean-to extension at the right end. The north gable has a weatherboarded top and a ledged loft door. The building has jowled corner posts, and the interior includes dropped tie-beams with raking struts to the principals. This outbuilding is included for its group value.
